Gone Skiing!

Lake Placid. Still swank though maybe not as swank as the early 1930s when everyone used to come here. It was minus 2 degrees today (!) but I managed to ski. When the tough get going they wear: North Face, skip the Damart thermal underwear (pretty as it is) that Princess Diana used to wear for something that actually keeps you warm when it is minus 2 degrees, vintage white fur boots and a vintage Hermes Navajo blanket bag that was a Christmas gift (which I love!). It is so cold that Ugg slippers actually looked appealing but I resisted. Tomorrow is suppose to be much warmer so I should be safe from the pull of the Ugg.

Robert Redford in Downhill Racer is one of my favorite more bad then good 1970s films. But Robert Redford is incredibly handsome, a gift to look at, and Camilla Sparv has a great wardrobe and with lines like "I waited for you in Megeve." "But why David, you know I had plans for Christmas." it is worth seeing.

There are so many great things about 1970s fashions and ski clothes are included in that greatness. So, here is a great ski ensemble from the 70s: a Bogner jacket and Veleda pants. Perfect when you want to look really cool, really chic and don't need to be really warm!
