Fancy a Fancy Hair Do? Miriam Haskell 1965 Jeweled Hair Piece

The woman I purchased this Miriam Haskell jeweled hair piece wore it to a party at Yale where the The Supremes performed.  And even before I knew that bit of fabulous history, I had already fallen in love with it.

Deanna Farnetti Cera who wrote the book,  The Jewels of Miriam Haskell, said that "Her jewelry was the only line in America that could compete with the French - Chanel and Schiaparelli."

From 1958 to 1968, Miriam Haskell was designed by Robert F. Clark.  Deanna Farnetti Cera wrote of Robert F. Clark's work that it was "inspired by fine jewelry.  His pieces are animated, rich, majestic and ingeniously intricate."

I always fancy a fancy hair do and loved some of the hair pieces at the recent fashion shows...
