The Lure of the Siren

Some events call for a gown - a straight-out glamorous dress. A dress that hugs your curves. A dress that is fit for a red carpet siren.

If you are feeling the call of the siren, then this 1980s Adolfo is the perfect choice. In black velvet, with a focus on structure, the off the shoulder dress has a slightly Thierry Mugler-esque detail in the cut-out near the small sleeve. The super-fitted bodice clings to the body while the hem in a nearly fluorescent pink is a fluffy, voluminous mermaid style. It is dramatic and glamorous and if Madame Gautreau, famously known as Madame X, was being painted by John Singer Sargent in the 1980s instead of the 1880s, we can imagine her wearing something like this.
