We Stand Corrected

Dating vintage pieces is not always an exact science though I try to be as accurate as possible. Someone recently pointed out that our Isaac Mizrahi dress with oversize sequins is not from 1994 but actually from 1989.  I always enjoy knowing as much as possible about our collection so if anyone catches a mistake in the future or in our past on the blog, please feel free to let me know!

The Fashion Show

RARE vintage was very excited to have had the opportunity to lend pieces from our collection as a source of inspiration to the design contestants on Bravo's new The Fashion Show with Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland. We all know that designers are often inspired either by the house that they work for (Karl Lagerfeld brilliantly for Chanel) or by other designers (Yves Saint Laurent by Marc Jacobs for his Resort 2009 collection).

Ellen Barkin wore a dress similar to this Isaac Mizrahi dress in 1994. Fourteen years later, both Ellen Barkin and the dress still look amazing!

The dress is cut almost like you are slipping on your boyfriends shirt - easy, comfy, a little bit oversized so it might seductively dip off the shoulder. Of course, your boyfriends shirt is probably not a light mocha colored chiffon with big paillettes all over it.

It is perfect for parties here in New York with a pair of great nude colored shoes or for a warm weather getaway with high, strappy sandals. And, as always with vintage, you will be going green, get a seasonless dress and at a price much gentler to your credit card and it is a great collection piece too. That is a lot to be cheerful about!
