Dakota Johnson Rising Style Star!

So how amazing has Dakota Johnson looked for her 50 Shades of Grey press junket?!  I LOVE all of the Julie de Libran for Sonia Rykiel too that she has been wearing like this jumpsuit and vest - and the Rykiel shoes are great too.

at Saturday Night Live in Sonia Rykiel

in Dior and Jenna Fischer jewelry

on the Today show in fuzzy and leather Balenciaga

and in a beautiful and bohemian Chanel couture from 2014 sparkly gown - have to say, it was a great decision to lose the jacket and flats and add a simple strappy heel...

from the Chanel runway

and in an ethereal Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent gown

and in Julie de Libran for Sonia Rykiel pre-fall cape and I think a Proenza Schouler striped top

"Talk to the Hand"

Oh my gosh!  What is that saying, the best laid plans of mice and men...  Anyhoo!  This is the post that almost got away!  Oh the trials and tribulations of blogging!

It's Monday morning and time to talk to the hand.  I mean Sonia Rykiel's hand.

Ceci est un main.  Ceci est un gant.

An embroidered hand in an embroidered glove on a suede bag from Sonia Rykiel.  Tres fabuleux!

Sonia Rykiel Belts

We have found ourselves loving late 1970s/early 1980s Sonia Rykiel recently.  There is a certain Parisian glam to some of her best pieces.  Some are super cool like these two knit belts. The first is a black suede belt with SOIR DE FETE spelled out in diamanté on it.  The other is a knit belt with brass studs, oversized crystals and gilt peacocks.  Because it is tied on, you can be a size 2 or a size 12 and you can wear it at the waist or on the hips.  More bang for a little buck: always a good thing!

Early 1980s Sonia Rykiel belts.  One marked SOIR DE FETE .
The other a knit belt with gilt peacocks.

To Plume or Not to Plume

No question: plume!

We will admit that this 1970s Sonia Rykiel burnt orange maribou feather coat with silk lining is more for a peacock then for the shy type who likes to blend in. But secretly, we all burn for a little drama and this is the perfect coat, which is more accessory then it is coat, to create a little excitement in. Have fun! Size 4-8.
