SEE: Karl Lagerfeld: ModeMethode

The Bundeskunsthalle museum - golly, try saying that three times fast! in Bonn, Germany is exhibiting the first comprehensive exhibit of Karl Lagerfeld's work - from his yellow wool coat which won the 1954 Woolmark prize and started his (and Yves Saint Laurent's) career to the pregnant bridal dress from the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2014 haute couture collection.

A trip down memory lane...

A vivid and lively version of Karl Lagerfeld's desk:

THE Hair Accessory of Fall 2015

Here it is: THE hair accessory for fall 2015...

Chanel fall 2015.  Photo from Sam McKnight Instagram.

I LOVE this hippie staple gone glam by Chanel with a golden quilted double CC and its golden tipped CC chopstick.  Put my name on The List now!  Please : )

Chanel and the Sciura

A sciura is a certain breed of Italian housewife - she is well kept, well groomed, conservative... and the Chanel fall 2015 collection is very sciura.  Sciura at the Café Gabrielle for an espresso.  The collection was almost revolutionary in its conservativeness.  There were sensible shoes, sensible sweater sets and sensible skirt lengths but it was all kind of chic.  The kind of clothes that you would wear forever...

and I agree with Suzy Menkes, this will be the chic shoe of the season:

Spring Haute Couture 2015: Day Two and Three

The couture continues...

Chanel

I think there is no doubt Chanel spring 2015 haute couture was all about those fabulous knitted beanies bedecked with flowers, feathers and a veil.

Armani Privé

Armani Privé made me feel like a giant panda out for lunch.  Let's munch on some bamboo...

I loved the vaguely Japanese designer aesthetic - very ethereal and beautiful...

and these sheer pants are pretty and gorgeous with a beaded top - old school glamour but modern too.

Ulyana Sergeenko

If Chanel was all about the knitted beanie, Ulyana Sergeenko was all about the chicken bag - at least for me : )
