Favorite Super Bowl Ad

Last night. Superbowl Sunday.  I came to my large screen tv.  I brought chicken wings (no butter, no hot sauce - I actually did  not even know that is the traditional way to have chicken wings - I do mine with olive oil, rosemary and sea salt on the grill), I watched minutes of game time and longer minutes of commercials, watched the Half Time show with Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers - Anthony Kiedis was definitely giving David Beckham a run for his shirtless money - what a great Half Time show - no tricks just great music - I got sleepy and left to watch Downton Abbey in bed.  Well, I tried...

Okay so what happened to Denver last night?  One touch down??  Well, I just think the Denver Broncos got seriously psyched out when they they saw how amazing the costumes (uniforms my husband said) of the Seattle Seahawks were: navy blue, white and neon green.  Elegant and cool.  Plus those helmets.  Denver?  70s orange and white.  I would be bummed out too.

Anyhoo, what was your favorite commercial?  My mother loved the David Beckham one and I really liked the Radio Shack, "The Eighties called..."

Super Bowl Sunday in New York

I know the Super Bowl is really in New Jersey but it feels like it is in New York.  On Thursday I took my son and made him wait in a 2 hour line for the 2 second tobogan run on Super Bowl Boulevard in Times Square.  It was freezing cold and really fun.

I am going to watch the game later, the commercials and the half time show: Bruno Mars - I have seen him perform a couple of times and he is amazing!  and, unexpectedly, the Red Hot Chili Peppers!  I actually saw them way back when when I was at Bard - we had some great bands at Bard...

So can I combine fashion and football players?  Yes, yes I can...

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen at the Met gala and yes I have seen them at a few Met galas and they really are that ridiculously good looking...

The Superbowl Pre Show

So the Superbowl Pre show should be starting soon and I am beyond excited to see what the fellas will be wearing. I expect to see lots of spandex, big should pads... Hmmm... Anything else?  Mermaid gowns ? Probably not. Calvin Klein underwear?

Maybe...

I can't wait for all of the action to start and by that I mean not the 11 minutes of actual game time (yawn) but the drum roll please, the Commercials!

My husband is looking forward to the game or maybe he is interested in the commercials too - like this one from Mercedes.  And what is so interesting about a girl washing a car in slow motion anyway : )

Enjoy the Super Bowl whether you are watching it for the pre show, the commercials, the half time show or maybe even for the actual game itself - or maybe like me you are watching it for the commercials and noshing on the food.  Back with vintage tomorrow!

And Madonna Scores!

A touchdown in Givenchy!  (And so did the Giants!  Not in Givenchy of course but they scored some major touchdowns.  Sorry Gisele.)  What a performance!  What a show!  I love that the Super Bowl probably had a whole new audience tuning in last night: the fashion crowd.  Madonna sang "Vogue", "Like a Prayer", "Open Your Heart" and her new single,  "Give Me All Your Luvin".

Madona's costumes by Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy Haute Couture and stylist and costume designer, B. Akerlund were Gianni Versace/Clepoatra-esque.  I love that Tisci said in a statement, "People say everything has a limit, but limits do not exist with Madonna."

Madonna's gold cape was hand embroidered with gold metal, studs, crystals and lined in leopard print chiffon.  The mini dress was in silk cady with a leopard print cape in silk charmeuse which was also hand embroidered.  The greece inspired belt was in python with gold studs and the flaps were removable.  (Remember the boys from LMFAO ripped them off)  And she wore napa leather gloves.  I loved the boots too.

It all makes you want to rush out and go to the gym (damn Madonna looked smoking hot!), take a dance class and order a piece from the Spring 2012 Givenchy Couture collection doesn't it?!

And PS: Don't you think Madonna has moves better then Jagger?!
