"Your Eyes are the Eyes of a Woman in Love"

Damn straight sister!  I love, love, love the Valentino pre-fall collection.  It is my perfect world: Valentino's world and the vintage world of Celia Birtwell.  Celia Birtwell's world is a magical place, lushly landscaped with inspiration from Sandro Botticelli's La Primavera.  And Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli's world is the wonderful world of Valentino - a perfect placed filled with memories of  Mr. Valentino but thoroughly placed in the present... and in the future because we unfortunately will not see these clothes for a few months.  But as Pierpaolo Piccoli said, "We want to believe in a fantastic future."

Yes we do...

Some of my favorites:

I have to start with the denim culottes - they are too good:

Fly me to the moon and let me dance among the stars:

The power is in the Birtwell flower:

We'll Always Have Paris: Valentino Edition

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccoli have really proved to be a perfect fit for the house of Valentino - they have taken Valentino forward but still reference the codes of the house.  I particulary loved the longer floaty bohemian pieces which are so right for summer...

Comme Des Garcons: Blood, Guts and Glory

Now, there is a title that I never thought I would write for a fashion post!  But Comme des Garcons Spring 2015 was all blood, guts and glory.  Rei Kawakubo sent out a bloodied almost disembowled collection - it was bizarre and oddly beautiful...

We'll Always Have Paris: Céline Edition

Phoebe Philo for Céline has once again designed my dream wardrobe.  One of the things that I also love about Céline, like Dries, is that it is actual wardrobe building - something from last season still looks so good this season, or will next...

There is also a nice element of fantasy.  This season the Céline woman is in the South of France with Jacques-Henri Lartigue.  I always wanted my Renee Perl/Lartigue/SouthofFrance moment didn't you?!

Looks like Phoebe wanted her Lartigue moment too...

And then was a very chic Courreges-esque moment too...

Saint Laurent, Hedi Slimane, Jodi Foster and Taxi Driver

Hedi Slimane was obviously channeling Jodi Foster's runaway/prostitute in Taxi Driver for Saint Laurent Spring 2015.  I am sure it was meant to cause quite le scandale...

We'll Always Have Paris: Dries van Noten Edition

For Spring 2015 Dries van Noten was inspired by John Everett Millais' painting, Ophelia.

as always with Dries, there are lots of wonderful pieces here...

We'll Always Have Paris: Junya Watanabe Edition

Paging Monsieur Cardin, paging Monsieur Cardin... Junya Watanabe was obviously paging Pierre Cardin for his Spring 2015 collection.  It was not necessairly my bag baby but it was still wonderfully dotty and I am sure Anna dello Russo will haul out the whole look in the fall for fashion month...

Me, I would wear this:

or this one - I kind of love it over the striped tee:

and I do think the wig/head piece is a great and fun collector's item...

and Junya channels Pierre:
