There is a lovely exhibition happening right now at the New-York Historical Society of 88 gelatin silver prints from Mr. Cunningham's 1978 book, Facades. I can't imagine New York without the blue coated Bill Cunningham and Facades is a celebration of Cunningham's New York. On weekends Mr. Cunningham photographed his friend and neighbor, Editta Sherman, dressed in vintage garb at various landmarks throughout the city. The result is a beautifully moving tribute to New York, fashion and sentiment.
