Celine by Robert Polidori

The Wall Street Journal had the photographer, Robert Polidori, photograph Celine's new headquarters in the elegantly reserved Hotel Colbert de Torcy.  Robert Polidori has taken the most hauntingly beautiful photographs of the palace of Versailles, as it was being renovated, and those photographs are full of ghosts in panniered court costumes and opulently tattered memories.

Those are a few of my favorites but back to Polidori and Celine.  The photographs of Celine's new headquarters were taken by Robert Polidori and they are beautiful!

The house of Celine had no proper home - there were offices scattered across Paris and the Hotel Colbert de Torcy is certainly a proper home.

My kind of home ; )

There is a grand stone staircase, a remnant from the original architect, Pierre le Muet... and the Phoebe Philo for Celine signature touch of the ficus tree in a custom planter by the Danish artist FOS:

Such a gorgeous and happy space:

The flooring, twelve types of marble sourced from Italy, France and Brazil, is similar to those in the Celine stores:

The workroom, an 'orangerie', is hidden behind a lush and whimsical wall of seagrass:

Bare and Beautiful

I like a clean face.  Clean, moist and simple.  Maybe it is an aftershock (long felt) from wearing Chanel purple eyeshadow (the horror) from my lashes all the way to my eyebrows in the 80s when I was in  high school (yikes!  wish I had a photo but glad I do not: ) I do not wear much make up.  And even when I do wear make up, Cliff, my make up artist from Tom Ford for Met galas, etc... peers closely and intently into my face and wonders where exactly the "make up" is.

But my bare faced 'make up' has been vindicated in the latest Celine ad campaign featuring a fetchingly beautiful and bare faced, Daria Werbowy...

so there! and be bare and beautiful, Juliana

Celine: So Muff to Love

I did not love spring Celine so much but I love the fall collection!  And I love the slouchy muffs in white and marigold...

Coveting for Fall: Celine

"Really elegant but weird; almost nerdy but perverse."
Jurgen Teller, photographer, of the Celine ad campaigns

One of the things I am most coveting for fall is an inexpensive Chinatown shopping bag in a colorful red plaid - no, wait, that is not right - one of the things I am most coveting for fall is an expensive Celine Chinatown shopping bag inspired coat in a colorful red plaid.

okay, truth be told, I am also really coveting the skirt and the funnel neck top

and did I mention the squishy bag?

and I love the ad campaign with Daria Werbowy

Phoebe Fetches My Dream Slippers

I have never been a marabou slipper kind of girl (although now that I think about it, I do have a pair of high heeled Louis Vuitton feathered mules in my closet...  Hmmm.  What is up with that?  Think I have worn them once.)  I like my slippers soft and comfy. And now Phoebo Philo for Celine has done my dream slipper that I can wear when I am wide wake during the day.  I can just hear my husband...  "oh those are sexy"...  It's kind of a glam Birkenstock.  Must be worn with bright red toe nail polish.  Husband must be ignored.  You go comfy girl!

Real Girl, Real Vintage

If you don't have a Celine bag, you most likely probably want one.  Phoebe Philo created the must have bag the classic flap box bag from the archive.  I love the new and I love the vintage Celine bags equally - after all, a girl can't have just one bag - can we?   What a silly question!  Dar!  Sometimes we want something brand spanking new and sometimes we want a very coveted vintage piece.  Here is a real girl, in real vintage.  1970s Celine flap box bag available at RARE vintage.

Sleek and Chic: Celine

Phoebe Philo is in the House of Celine creating very wearable, very desirable every day pieces.  It seems that women could not wait to put on their new Celine duds during the recent Fall 2010 shows. Maybe it is what we all want right now - or what we have always wanted - classic pieces, cool, wearable and covetable.

We are thrilled to have this iconic and covetable leather bag from Celine.  It is from the 1970s and is sleek and chic with just the right amount of gold in the classic Celine horse logo that was on the original label.
