THE Hair Accessory of Fall 2015

Here it is: THE hair accessory for fall 2015...

Chanel fall 2015.  Photo from Sam McKnight Instagram.

I LOVE this hippie staple gone glam by Chanel with a golden quilted double CC and its golden tipped CC chopstick.  Put my name on The List now!  Please : )

Chanel and the Sciura

A sciura is a certain breed of Italian housewife - she is well kept, well groomed, conservative... and the Chanel fall 2015 collection is very sciura.  Sciura at the Café Gabrielle for an espresso.  The collection was almost revolutionary in its conservativeness.  There were sensible shoes, sensible sweater sets and sensible skirt lengths but it was all kind of chic.  The kind of clothes that you would wear forever...

and I agree with Suzy Menkes, this will be the chic shoe of the season:

Givenchy Fall 2015 and Jack the Ripper

The barouche was waiting by the door, the gas lanterns were lit and Jack the Ripper was stalking the streets for Riccardo Tisci's Givenchy Fall 2015 collection.  I loved all of the Victorian influences, the mourning colors with jet beading and the slashes of crimson red.  I personally did not love the septum rings and the facial jewelry - I thought they distracted from the melancholic beauty of the clothes...

A few of my favorites:

These boots are beautiful and will definitely be in my closet for the fall:

Some great leather pieces:

This is so pretty and romantic:

Love how chunky the heel is and then the contrast with the tight leather of the boot:

Lovely black silk velvet bag with beading:

The Glamorous Granny and Dries van Noten Fall 2015

The dreamy Dries van Noten fall 2015 collection was like raiding your glamorous grandmother's attic and finding trunks brimming with treasured bits and bobs: silk flowers and feathers from the 30s, long burgundy gloves worn to a ball, duster coats brushing the floor, dresses from the early 1900s gilded with brocades and damasks, beading and embroidery...

My favorites - I really want it all!

See you in Dries' granny's attic, Juliana
