A writer toils away, maybe for years, on the script, hundreds of people work on making the film, it costs tens of millions of dollars to make the movie, the director obsesses over every frame and an actor learns his or her lines and explores their character's every nuance and when all is said and done, it all comes down to the humorless Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet asking "Who are you wearing?".
So let's get to it. Who, What, Wear:
Dior, bit of a bore:
Sandra Bullock can not resist a good pocket:

and at the 2006 Academy Awards:
Have to say, I did not love this Dior either:
Emma Watson in Dior |
and Paula Patton is such a sweetie - she wore a dress of ours in 2008 when I had taken a suite at the Chateau Marmont for a pop up awards season vintage shop and she could not have been nicer when she stopped by and tried on a few dresses but I thought the ruffle last night was overwhelming:

and it was a mermaid. Fortunately, most ladies decided to stay away from the mermaid gown - even Sofia Vergara - so you know the mermaid, is really and finally over!
but not for Kate Beckinsale. Avert your eyes if you do not want to see ye olde mermaid gown...

I think this was actually my favorite look last night...
Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta and adding a little edge in studded Louboutins |
and Michelle Dockery looks like a Duchess! Wouldn't Carson be proud?!
Michelle Dockery also in Oscar de la Renta |
Laura Carmichael in Viktor and Rolf |
Margot Robbie has really pulled it together from her earlier red carpet appearances and looked stunning last night:

Olivia Wilde in Gucci Premiere |
and another hot Mamma:
Matthew McConaughey's wife Camilla Alves in Dolce & Gabbana (and wasn't it nice that Matthew McConaughey spent so much time with the fans?!) |
And I think everyone's favorite (for good reason) was Lupita Nyong'O in Ralph Lauren:
I did not love this Valentino Couture dress on Amy Adams:

Not certain this dress translated very well from the runway:
Bérénice Bejo in Giambattista Valli Couture |
and on the runway:
I know this was controversial but I liked this look on Julia Roberts - she looked like she was being true to herself and what she likes and is comfortable in (as opposed to Lena Dunham who really did not look comfortable or like herself)

Juliana Margulies looked very pretty in Andrew Gn:

I know this is vintage but I did not love it - but maybe it was the hair...
Emma Thompson in vintage Lanvin |
and for most unfortunate moment. The dress must have been too heavy and pulled away from the double sided tape:

love, kisses and vintage, Juliana
