In 1991, we saw Carolina Herrera out shopping. Not a hair was out of place. She had a very rigorous sort of elegance that is not really seen anymore. We were very impressed. Part of her remarkable elegance was the It bag she was carrying. Barry Kieselstein-Cord was THE accessory designer in the early 1990s. Everyone coveted one of his matte gold animal belts or one of his bags. His bags were very refined but with a wonderful touch of whimsy in the little animals that decorated the closures.
Our beautiful Kieselstein-Cord bag is a flora and fauna nude suede with silk embroidery and a matte gold frog leaping across the top and a small lady bug. It is as elegant and ladylike as we remember Carolina Herrera on that day.
1991 nude suede Barry Kieselstein-Cord bag with silk embroidery.
