Sheer Madness!

One of my favorite dresses from the Fall 2013 haute couture shows was a Giambattista Valli bustled ballgown with a Luigi Scialanga sculpted metal ribbon belt:

but one of the things that made it light, lovely and modern was its sheer embroidered skirt.

There is something very sexy about being covered and yet uncovered at the same time...  One of my favorite new gowns at RARE vintage is this circa 1990 Vicky Tiel black jersey gown - very fitted through the bodice - with a dramatic open back and a long sheer black lace skirt. The lace is subtly embroidered with beading for  a bit of opulent glamour...

Red Alert!

Flirty and fun.  A mini crini from Vicky Tiel couture.  

The lace is in a joyful shade of  maraschino cherry with a red silk sash.  

This is a true party dress without any of the seriousness of black lace or the purity of white lace.  It is a 'girl's just want to have fun' shade of of red.  But this is serious lace, beautifully done. There are layers of little crinolines under the dress.  This is the bon bon in your closet.  Delicious, devilish and delightful!

Pretty in Palest Pink

In the softest shade of pale pink tafetta, this Vicky Tiel dress has a sort of mad cap 1980s glamour with a little mad cap ballerina tossed into the mix. The draped small waist is complimented by the poufed skirt. If you can find a nice little Laduree macaroon to have while wearing this well, you will be as pretty as Kirsten Dunst in Marie Antoinette. And while you may fall head over heels in love with the dress, you definitely will not have to worry about losing your head!

The Goddess Goes 80s

Vicky Tiel's couture 1980s cocktail dresses are great fun and look perfect now. RARE had a classic Vicky Tiel wiggle dress, a poufy dress that would have done Scarlet O'Hara proud if she was living in the 1980s instead of the 1860s and now we have a dress that incorporates the classical Goddess dress into the classic 80s dress. Size 6. And FYI: Don't think about this tomorrow because it may be gone!

LBD 80s Style!

It is definitely a Vicky Tiel 80s dress moment. They just look playful and sexy. This LBD is Vicky Tiel couture and the draped bodice accents and enhances the bust and waist and the full-skirt with the stiff lace and velvet petticoat makes the legs look long and lean. Simply gorgeous! Size 4/6.
