Free-Spirited

Diane Freis liked to mix it up - literally. Bits of ruffles, flowers, stripes and colors all sounds a bit bonkers until you see one of her easy, effortless summer dresses. They are perfect for traveling too as they are usually made in a polyester georgette that you can pack and wear on the first night in Venice to see the Biennale or for a summer evening in the Hamptons.

This dress is fresh and sweet in tulip pink and sky blue, gently ruffled and with a flowy, softly tiered peasant skirt and an elasticized waist. Worn with flat sandals the dress is perfect for all of the walking and hopping in and out of the water taxis that you will be doing in Venice or the high strappy heels that you will inevitably be wearing in the Hamptons.

And RARE vintage wants you to know that you will not have to break your piggy bank to look chic and have fun in a little vintage Diane Freis.

Early 1980s Diane Freis (unlabeled) polyester georgette dress. Size 6/8.

  1. This is one of my favorite types of Diane Freis dresses, the ruffles on the bodice and skirt along with the high neckline. I've only seen about 3 of these types of Freis dresses, and I own one of them. I just love it; it's too bad that this post is a couple of years old. :)
