Speedy Maxwell

How long does it take for a woman to get dressed? Is that even really a question that anyone would or should answer? Ask us our age, but please do not ask how long it takes us to get ready. I can get dressed and out the door in two minutes but let us just say that it usually involves lots of snarling and whirling around like the Tasmanian Devil. Who needs the pressure? Slow food, slow dressing - those are the movements for us!

In 1975, the American designer Vera Maxwell, made the "speed suit" which was a dress that a woman could slip on in seconds. We want to ask, why the big rush Vera? But if you have to hurry we definitely love the idea of this deep blue silk jersey top dress with its beautiful Greek key motif silk scarf print skirt and cuffs. It also comes with its original kerchief, so, if you do not have the time for a blow out, you just wrap your hair in it and voila! You look chic, gorgeous and like you spent hours instead of mere seconds getting ready!

Circa 1975 Vera Maxwell Speed Suit. Size 6.
