The Perfect Jacket Period.

We all need a perfect jacket and really one is all you need if you find the right one.  And why is this one perfect?  Well, for one thing it is Yves Saint Laurent from the 1970s.  (Who did pretty much everything perfectly.) It is a perfect shade of navy with perfect brass dome buttons.  It has a perfect little half belt on the back with two more of those great buttons.  It is perfectly fitted with high armhole and narrow sleeves.  It will look perfect with a short skirt, a pair of jeans, a nice trouser...

Maybe I really should have called this post Little Miss Perfect like this photo of Emmanuelle Alt from Scott Schuman's blog The Sartorialist.
Emmanuelle Alt from The Sartorialist

Doesn't she look perfect?  Not at all costumey just comfortable and cool.  How many times could I wear that exact outfit? Hmmm.  How many days are there in a year?  Emmanuelle Alt is wearing Fall 2010 Balmain (oh, why can't we all be wearing Balmain Fall 2010 right now???!)  I don't want to say that our YSL jacket is like the Balmain because any jacket or dress with so much as a single sequin on it, is suddenly shouted out as being just like Balmain and I don't want to do that.  Christophe Decarnin is brilliant and unique and there is really nothing like his pieces in terms of craft, cool and just flat out desirability.  But since we can not all be wearing fall Balmain just yet, you can be wearing this YSL jacket right now.  Isn't that just perfect?!
